Risk Management Processes of the CSM Directive

Our independent technical assessment body offers manufacturers, railway transport companies and infrastructure operators experts to clarify requirements concerning all the process steps of the CSM Directive EC/402/2013.
Since 1 July, 2012 the CSM directive has been in effect, for establishing a common European safety method for the assessment and evaluation of risks, and is based on EN 50126:
  • for all structural subsystems of the railways system
  • for every safety-relevant change or new development
  • for every TEIV approval
The risk management process - insofar as it complies with development as per EN 50126 - is essentially composed of three steps:
  • preliminary system definition and hazard investigation
  • risk analysis and risk evaluation
  • demonstration of system compliance with the determined safety requirement
We would be glad to assess your risk management process from an early stage on and would be glad to support you in the evaluation process of the required verification documents for the risk management process as per the CSM Directive.

Moreover, for your project we offer you coordinated

  • evaluation of the safety verification process for vehicles / control and safety systems / retrofitting
  • evaluation regarding RAMS in the development process of vehicles / control and safety systems / retrofitting
  • evaluation of qualification verifications (RAMS)
  • evaluation regarding RAMS throughout the entire life cycle
